WSCSC’s Fun Night for 2026 took a delightfully adventurous turn from our past traditions

We needed to shake things up a bit for our June Birthday ride to Arena Lake this year, and what a fantastic day it turned out to be!

It was so wonderful to look around the Round Corral on Saturday, June 6th, and feel so incredibly proud to be a member of the Women’s Surface Creek Saddle Club. We had an amazing crowd of club members, family, the U.S. Forest Service, and Western Slope Outdoor Alliance (WSOA), Thunder Mountain Wheelers, Colorado West Land Trust all show up to celebrate, connect, and give back to the trails we love.

May is Wildfire Preparedness Month, and our members recently stepped up to ensure they are ready for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.

What do you get when you mix a milestone birthday ride, two distinct trail groups, and some master-class coordination? An absolute home run of a day in the saddle!

Our April Birthday Ride was anything but ordinary. Before we even hit the trail, nine dedicated riders spent "Ready to Ride" time clearing the trailhead.

Fourteen riders saddled up at the Cedar Road Trailhead for our March birthday ride. We only logged a few miles, but we logged some serious "brain power" thanks to a lesson ride with Brandy and Thunder.
